Your Questions and My Answers!
As I have been able to work with many people over the past several years who have struggled with certain health difficulties, I have learned that the majority of the problems we all experience, stems from the lack of nutrition in our diets. Whenever there are health issues, one needs to focus on a cure. Subsequently, the cure for most of our ailments, is a good healthy whole foods diet, and occasionally, wholesome healing herbs. Drugs usually act as a "band-aid", just covering up the problem - treating the symptom. They do not cure the problem as whole foods or healing herbs do. You will learn to see the power of plants when you use them as a cure.
Question: My 4 month old has eczema on his face, elbows and the back of his legs. I have a prescription for a steroid creme from a doctor, but have not tried it yet. Have you had any experience with this?
Answer: Eczema is an internal problem as is all skin conditions. If you are nursing, you will need to work with your diet initially. There may be some things you are eating that are affecting him, so consider what you are eating and see if his condition ever varies. You may be lacking adequate water, so consider upping your water intake greatly (distilled water), and give him some too, if possible. Fresh aloe vera and lemon juice are good internal cleansers which you might want to consider taking, and as soon as you think he can handle it, give a little to him as well. Other suggestions: up your raw fruits and vegetables intake, take liquid chlorophyll, and Reliv Classic and Innergize (high nutrition supplements - see reliv.com) which have also been successful in clearing up eczema. Note that topical crèmes are only band-aid treatments. They rarely take care of the problem as it is an internal issue that must be cleared up internally.
Question: Last year I started experiencing some severe digestion problems. After a few tests, the gastro doctor said that I had IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). She put me on a medication called Levsin. I went back for a 6 week check-up and asked if Levsin was appropriate to take if I was going to be pregnant. She said no, and gave me Bentyl (still a strong medication). It worked half as well as Levsin. By this time though, I was experiencing the problems maybe every 2 weeks rather than 2 times a day. I felt great. Over the next few months I was able to get completely back to normal. I am now 6 weeks pregnant. I feel like I am reverted back to being sick. It's not morning sickness; it's the IBS sickness. I don't want to take the medication. What can you suggest?
Answer: Many people in our country are experiencing this disorder and medication is not the answer - it cannot cure the problem! The body is meant to digest and eliminate our foods properly, but we must not violate the rules. We must have raw enzymes (only from raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and sprouts) to aid proper digestion - celery is particularly good to eat. We must also eat foods high in fiber: raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains (not whole grain breads - the real whole cooked or sprouted grains), raw nuts, and beans (proper food combinations are a real issue too). We must eliminate the refined foods that are system cloggers, which cause our digestive systems to over stress and quit functioning properly. Milk products need also be eliminated as they are congestion forming and can clog the intestines and bowels as well. Cascara sagrada is an herbal supplement that will clean out the bowels initially and continue to give bowel relief when needed. Lots of pure water is also a key to the cure. I had an acquaintance recently who had IBS who said her stomach fizzed after every meal. She was told to drink 2-3 quarts of water daily and her IBS symptoms almost disappeared. We need the pure water to aid our digestion and bowels in cleansing. Remember, foods should nourish, but we need the water to cleanse - this is the key to good health!
Question: I have a question about natural hormones for menopause. I started going through it about 3 years ago and went on some hormone replacement for about 9 months. They helped but everything I have read recommends not being on them very long. I haven't had too many side affects but just now I am having a few more hot flashes and not being able to sleep at night. Just thought you might be able to shed some light.
Answer: The Asians, whose diets are high in soy (tofu, soy beans - edamame, soy sauce, etc.) don't know what menopause is. If you can incorporate soy in your diet, you should see great improvement in itself. I have a friend who has had major menopause problems and has found great success in these natural remedies. For moderate symptoms, she recommended Promensil, a red clover extract, available at Walmart, etc. or Estroven, available anywhere: grocery stores, etc. If you have advanced symptoms, don't mess with these. She has tried all kinds of things over the past years, and found this to be the best called (brand) New Chapter (name) Estrotone, 60 softgels for approx. $20, one month supply. You'll find it at a good health food store. Again, a diet high in nutrition is one of the biggest factors in helping our bodies function properly. Eliminate the processed, and concentrate on eating mostly raw, high nutritious whole foods.
Question: My husband at 62 has liver disease NACS. He has been a fast food junkie. He is on the liver transplant list but yesterday found out that his M.E.L.D. score went down - from 14 to 12. My thought is... his liver is healing itself with his change of diet. Please advise me of sites and diets which will expedite this healing.
Answer: One of the liver's main functions is to purify the blood for use in the body. If we fill our bodies with junk foods constantly, we completely stress the liver to the max. It will not be able to keep up with the overload of toxins. Even with a transplant, he must learn to eat healthy, wholesome foods to retain his new liver. It is possible for his liver to cleanse and heal, but he will have to commit to going on liver cleanses and a permanent change of diet to whole foods. There are consequences of all our choices, but we can "repent" and make better choices. I am not sure what his change of diet is, but would honestly recommend my consultation program for step by step guidance through liver cleansing and a whole foods diet program. He could do it if he really wants to retain his liver and be healthy.
My sincere hope is that you will be able to achieve the best of health with good wholesome foods and herbs. That's what they are here for!
To a Healthier Lifestyle,
Erleen
